These terms cover your use of the Girder website. They are written to be read. Using the site means you accept them. A building contract with us is a separate, signed document, and where the two differ the signed contract wins.

The site is information

Everything on this website describes how we work, what we have built and what we can build. It is general information, not engineering, legal or financial advice for your project. Conditions on every site are different, and nothing here replaces a survey, drawings and a written bid.

The budget calculator

The rough budget tool gives a range and a schedule from the size, type and finish level you choose. It is based on our recent jobs and it is an estimate only.

• It is not an offer and it does not bind you or us.
• It does not include land, permits, design fees or unusual ground conditions unless we say so in writing.
• Prices for labor and materials move. A range you saw last month may not hold today.

A bid from us is binding only when it is written, itemised and signed by both sides.

Bids and contracts

A request sent through this site starts a conversation. It does not create a contract. We send a budget range first and a fixed, itemised bid after we have seen the drawings or the site. A bid stays open for the period printed on it. Work starts only once a contract is signed by you and by an officer of Girder.

Project photos and drawings

The photographs, drawings, plans and text on this site belong to Girder or to our clients and their architects, and they are shown with permission. You may look at them and share links to them. You may not copy, reuse or publish them, or use them to train software, without written permission. If you believe something here is yours and should not be shown, tell us and we will take it down while we check.

What you send us

Drawings and documents you send for pricing stay yours. You give us permission to use them, and to share them with subcontractors and suppliers, only to prepare your bid and build your job. Please send only what you have the right to share.

Fair use of the site

Do not try to break the site, scrape it in bulk, send spam through its forms or pretend to be someone else. We may block access that harms the site or other visitors.

Liability

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, Girder is not liable for losses that come from relying on general information on this site, from the budget calculator, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any duty we accept in a signed building contract, which carries its own warranties.

Some pages link to other websites, such as suppliers, licensing boards or maps. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they publish.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Disputes about this website belong to the state and federal courts in Cook County, Illinois.
