This policy explains what Girder collects when you use this website, ask for a bid, send us a message or apply for a job. It says why we need it, who sees it and how you stay in control.

What we collect

  • Bid requests: your name, company, email, phone, the site address, the type and size of the job, your timing and anything you write or attach, such as drawings.
  • Contact messages: your name, email, phone and the message itself.
  • Job applications: your name, contact details, the link to your CV or profile and what you tell us about your experience.
  • Website analytics: pages visited, the search or link that brought you here, device type and rough location. We use this to see which pages help people and which do not.

Why we use it

We use your details to price your job, answer your question, plan a site visit and, if you hire us, to run the build. We use applications only to fill the role you applied for, or a similar one if you ask us to keep your details. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising on other websites.

Who sees it

Your details are read by the estimators, project managers and office staff who work on your request. To price or build your job we share the parts that are needed, usually the drawings, the site address and the scope, with the subcontractors and suppliers who quote for it. They may use them for your job and nothing else. We also use a small number of service providers for email, file storage and analytics. They work under contract and may not use your information for their own purposes.

We share your drawings and details with subcontractors and suppliers only to price or build your job.

How long we keep it

  • Bid requests that do not become a job: two years, then deleted.
  • Project records, contracts and drawings: ten years after handover, because warranties and building rules require it.
  • Job applications: twelve months, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
  • Analytics: fourteen months, in a form that does not name you.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to how we use it. If a law requires us to keep a record, such as a signed contract, we will tell you what we must keep and why. We answer every request within thirty days and we never charge for it.

Security

Drawings and project files are stored on access-controlled systems, and only the people working on your job can open them. No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you promptly and say what we are doing about it.

Children

This website is for owners, developers and people looking for work in construction. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and change the date at the top. Questions, or a request about your information: write to bids@girder.build or call +1 (312) 555-0164. A person from the office will reply.
